Keri D. Hollingsworth- Actress
Keri's Bio

Keri Denise Hollingsworth was born and raised in Miami, Fl. She knew that she wanted to be an actress at the age of four. Her favorite show was The Cosby Show. She started memorizing lines and "performing" them during the repeats. As a child, Keri also did impressions of television characters. In elementary school she was nicknamed "Urkel", after her very impressive imitation of Steve Urkel from Family Matters.

In high school, she was a dedicated member of the Miami Norland Sr. High Drama Club under the direction of Lori Bailey. Her roles include “Miss Mary” in Shakin’ the Mess Outta Misery and “Squire Chip” in A Woman Called Truth.

After graduation in 2000, Keri moved to Orlando, Fl to attend the University of Central Florida. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education, as well as an ESOL Endorsement on May 1, 2004.

Not wanting teaching to completely overshadow her pursuit of acting, she became more active in her quest for roles. She performed as a member of the Jigaboo Ensemble in a play version of Spike Lee's School Daze with People’s Theatre, Inc. in 2006. From 2007 to 2009, she performed as Sis. Simone Ward in the gospel stage play You Better Be Glad I'm Saved. As a member of Just Playin' Performance Troupe, Keri participated in a theatrical reading of Death to Willie Lynch Letter at STAR 94.5's Jena 6 Town Meeting in 2007 and at the Urban League Conference in 2008. In March 2008, Keri performed in the Ms./Mrs. Corporate America Pageant in a skit entitled Equal But Not Equal. In August 2008, Keri performed her first lead role in The Girl Who Cried Out Father with Goldenchild Entertainment, Inc.  She last performed as Phyllis in Laying Where No One Can See, produced by Shine Productions.

Keri is currently an elementary school teacher in Orange County Public Schools.  Although teaching is her primary career right now, she still brings her love for acting into the school setting.  She is the director of the Reader's Theatre Drama Club at Hiawassee Elementary School.  Shows performed include Beauty is a Beast (2008) and Lost and Found (created and cowritten by the student club members in 2009).  She is also a Cadette Girl Scout Leader and a member of Alpha Phi Omega Co-ed National Service Fraternity, Inc.

Keri’s thanks go first and foremost to God, her creator and blessings provider. Without Him, none of this would have been possible. She also would like to thank her family and friends for their years of support. To my present and past directors: thank you for every rehearsal, every note and every encouraging word. The road to bringing my characters to life wasn’t always easy but you guided me every step of the way. You have imprinted yourselves in my life and helped my dreams come into fruition. I love you!! To every person who ever came to a play, thank you for your support!

Stay tuned. I’m not done yet. I’ve only just begun…
